WHAT THE FRIENDS DO FOR THE LIBRARY:

The Friends of the North Haven Library is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and strengthening the facilities and services of the North Haven Memorial Library and to fostering the relationship between the Library and the Community.   

All proceeds are used to fund children and adult programs and expenses not covered by the North Haven Town Budget including:

  • Museum & Entertainment Passes

  • New York Times Digital Subscription

  • Summer & Winter Reading Clubs

  • Tumble Books Digital Library

  • 1,000 Books before Kindergarten

  • Guided Meditation and Tai Chi

  • Teen Mystery Parties

  • Large Print Books

  • Jigsaw Puzzle Contest

  • Equipment and Furniture

  • Outdoor Bench

  • Community Room Overhead Projector and Laptop

The Friends sponsor many free or discounted admission passes to museums and entertainment venues with your North Haven Library Card. To view a full list of Museum Passes, click here.

Buy Our Books!

​Best Friends Book Store

​

Located on the main floor of the North Haven Memorial Library, this store is open during regular library hours. Additionally, there are two carts in the lobby featuring Children's Books and bestselling adult books.

 

All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Library. Stop by and check out the everyday low prices! The store is open the same hours as the library.

​

The Friends welcome gently used books to sell in our bookstore. We ask that the books are in decent condition, don't smell and have no bugs.  

 

Bought a book from our store and want to donate it back? No problem. Remember, all proceeds of the bookstore support the library's programs and museum passes, so we welcome them back so they can find a new home.
